We had free flights on British Airways (through air miles) which were brilliant. We booked the hotel accommodation through Asia Travel over the internet. We ended up at Le Coco Beach after being shafted by the tour company Asia Travel. They took our money up front 6 months in advance for La Pirogue 4* and we were taken to Le Coco Beach 3* without choice. So we felt very negative on arrival at a "Lively Family" hotel for our romantic couples holiday. But it really won us over.
We had a lovely room in the villa area with a beautiful 2 minute walk through the fabulous garden to one one of the 4 white sandy beaches, where we snorkelled and sunbathed. Not much in the way of refreshments on the beach, but it was a short walk to the pool bar.
Beach vendors were plentiful, but not aggressive. On the other side of our villa was a 9 hole pitch and putt course. Not having played for years we were apprehensive, but there was no one watching and we hacked around it several times a day. Just fantastic, even in the odd downpour.
We really enjoyed the food, standard buffet but great service, great location overlooking the pool area, great variety. No complaints.
Entertainment wasn't to our taste, we spent most nights with quiet drinks and the movie channel on TV. The kids club looked brilliant and we were sorry we hadn't brought our 2 and 4 year olds.
We will go back with them in the near future. The pool was very warm, not crowded with great burgers for lunch at the pool bar. We had our birthday celebration dinner in Le Boathouse restaurant, which was pricey, but superb. All in all well recovered, but will never use Asiatravel again.

We chose Mauritius to get married and chose Le Coco Beach for its family friendly brochure reviews. We could not have chosen a more perfect hotel.
Our wedding was just what we wanted. Wherever you go within the hotel the staff are constantly cleaning & tending to the grounds. The food, although served buffet style, really is as the brochure describes as a trip around the world. Based on the lower level of the main building the servery covers half the floor space with the other half being a seating area. The food was excellent for breakfast, lunch (only tried this a few times) and dinner. Lunch was mainly eaten around the pool from the bar.
Our accommodation was excellent. Large and spacious. Our family were in the main hotel but as the bride and groom we had our own villa within the beautiful gardens.
Hotel staff were faultless. They could just not do enough for you - genuinely! Management staff were always making their prescence known and were very approachable and conscientious that our stay was to the highest standard.
Entertainment was very basic but quite enjoyable. The entertainment staff too excelled themselves at all times during the day - so you could join in anything from beach volleyball to waterpolo to doing absolutely nothing!
The Maurtians love football and associate where in Great Britain you live by your local football team.

We went to Le Coco Beach for our honeymoon.
When we arrived (after a 12 hour flight) we were left to sit in reception for what seemed like an eternity, with very little information on what was to heppen next.
But once we got our room, everthing got better. There was air conditioning, a full fridge, sofa, even an electronic safe and patio doors to a furnished balcony.
The hotel grounds were huge, with large pool, outside bar for food and drinks, volley ball court, and lots of loungers. The beach is so close, with boat rental nearby, aswell as other water sports.
The entertainment was often dance routine based, and very good, you can often watch them practice by day.
I have to recommend the local Mauritian brews.

This hotel was colourful, clean, and fun!! The kids club ran from 9.30am until 9pm, which really made our holiday, as the kids were well looked after, and they loved it. The food in the hotel was excellent, and the chefs were so proud of their work, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We go on holiday 2-3 times per year, and this hotel scores 10 out of 10 for us. We will go back!!!
