Hello all,
My partner and I are planning on going to Bulgaria for honeymoon in August and would appreciate some advice/opinions on the destinations and hotels we are thinking of staying in.
Our current plan is to stay in Sunny Beach at the Hotel Victoria Palace for 6 nights before travelling to Bovorets to stay at the hoyel Samokov for 7 nights. We will then travel back to Sunny Beach for a one night stay at the Victoria Palace before getting the plane home.
We have heard some very nice things about the Victoria Palace but also some not so nice things. As it is a honeymoon we would like to stay at the best hotels that we can afford and the Victoria Palace appears to fit the bill!
We were planning on staying half board at the Victoria as we had heard that there were a shortage of restaurants to visit in the evening. In Bovorets we are planning on bed and breakfast.
At the moment we are veering between the twin centre holiday or going for a 14 night stay on the beach and then doing day trip excursions to the mountains. Does anyone know what sort of temperature to expect in the mountains?
If anyone has any thoughts/opinions or indeed experiences of these areas we would be most grateful to hear about them.
Many thanks,
James & Karen
I think you have been seriously misinformed re restaurants in sunny Beach, there are a tremendous amount and you will find that regulars on this forum will always advise going B&B because the restaurants offer far better food than hotels.
as we had heard that there were a shortage of restaurants to visit in the evening
In Sunny Beach in August?
I doubt it, but maybe in Borovets it could be the case.

Hi, just be aware of the small print on these offers, " the itinerary for these holidays is subject to amendment, sometimes without prior notification and requires a minimum amount of passengers" Tonyt
As Peter & Patka said, there are in excess of 130 catering establishments in Sunny Beach, not to mention many more in Nesebar, which is extremely nearby - I certainly would not book anything other than B&B, as restaurants are so varied and cheap that I'd hate to be stuck with what are usually, at best, mediocre hotel meals.

Every taste is catered for including a Mc Donalds (not for me). We celebrate our wedding anniversary while we are away this year and we are going back to a small restaurant overlooking the harbour in Old Nessebar which was fantastic. (sorry can't remember the name but I can walk there) Hope this helps and Congratulations.
Paul
