my wife is just about to have an operation so we will be going to cyprus at the end of june, can anyone reccomend an adults only hotel as i do not want to take the risk of her getting knocked by kids(there again she could get knocked by adults).
Any recomendations would be appreciated, preferably on a beach or close by,and near to bars, taverns etc

Hi you can try the Tasia Maris Beach it is a Thomsons Gold this is adults only. We have been 10 times it is okay. Check on the hotel reviews at the top of the page.
Sorry, I'm confused, I thought you were already booked to go to the Tasia Maris Beach?

There is a dedicated insurance topic at the top of the General Holiday Enquiries forum with recommendations on page 1 of that topic.

Its about a 5/10 minute walk to the nearest local bars and 30 minutes walk to the harbour although buses stop down the road or you could always get a taxi.
I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and will be back there ourselves in July.
I know how something to look forward to, boosts you on and aids recovery, but the point about insurance is a valid one. My friend had surgery last year, and felt much better, but because she had been in hospital in the last six months, she had to have a fit to travel letter from the Doctor.
With regards to an adults only hotel, I concur with Wanderer re the Pioneer Hotel. This is part of the Constantinou Bros hotels, and I have stayed here many times. Another hotel of their which is adults only is the Athena Royal which I would thoroughly recommend too.

The Athena Royal Beach is a newer property and a bit more expensive, we got the best deal through Portland Direct for the time of year we went.

Ascos Coral Beach Hotel
The modern Ascos Coral Beach Hotel, exclusively for adults from April to October, is set amidst attractive, landscaped gardens and is separated from the beach by a steep slope. It is not therefore recommended for the elderly or disabled. Located in the Coral Bay area and only 15 minutes walk from the sandy coral beach and 12 kilometres from Paphos Town. Please note: Ascos Beach has developed an adults only theme and children under 16 years of age are not permitted from May to October.

With regard to your insurance. I had my Gall Bladder removed in December and although it was only key hole surgery my insurance said I would not be covered until 10 weeks after my op. So it could be a bit risky.
Just got back from our seventh visit in five years and the love affair may be over. Standards are going down, down, dowwwwwnnnn.
Honest review to follow shortly...
Well I'll be there on Sunday for my eighth visit. Was it that bad?

The napa plaza in ayia napa has just gone adult only. It is a lovely hotel and we have stayed their 2 years running. Can't stay there this year cause I have a 2 year old but it is a lovely hotel and I would recommend it 100%. Not noisy either considering you are very central.
Like most of Cyprus it starts to get busy from early May and the Hotel takes on staff to cover them for the season. I suspect that there may have been some teething problems last month but it is certainly running very well now - in fact I'll be booking for June 2008 later today!
For those who were there last year a bit of a sad loss as David, from the entertainment team, is going back to Scotland at the end of this week. Best of luck to you David - I know you said you read this!!

Thanks for that drandle we stayed at the ascos for the first time last year and are going back in just over 2 weeks and was a little worried after reading that earlier post! Glad to hear it's as great as ever!
Enjoy the stay at the Ascos Katy, and say Hi to Andreas at the pool bar and also Stelios in the restaurant (even if he is a Liverpool supporter!) from me
