Haven't been in the hotel recently, but it was closed all winter and has just reopened after refurbishment. It is on the beach and in previous years was always a good hotel.

In the mid-80s, the Poseidonia hotel was 'the' hotel in Limassol. Over the years it gradually lost its position and a few years ago it started offering 'all inclusive' deals to attract custom.

It's in an excellent position, right on the beach, but before the refurbishment it was pretty shabby and in need of a complete facelift.

I've not been in since it's refurbishment. These's an excellent bar over the road called 'miancos' and plenty of restaurants in the area.

(A number of the hotels close periodically for refurbishment/upgrading, it's not unusual).

Has anyone stayed in this hotel in Limassol?

I haven't stayed there as I live in Limassol, but have heard good reports from someone who has. It is in a good area and on the beach and was opened last season after being closed for a complete refurbishment. If you stay there, you need to book a seaview room as the other side looks onto a busy road.

No, sorry, not stayed there, or in deed in Limassol at all, but the waterpark is Number 15 in the same square, so Yes, you are very close :D

The hotel is on the main sea front road and there is a regular bus along to the old port and the old town.
It is situated between Amathus and the main tourist area so it is a little quieter there, but you can still walk to shops and restaurants etc. Taxis are easy to get, I think there is a taxi rank at the hotel.
The water park is at Fasouri which is out of town to the west, but again there is a special bus service to take you there and bring you back. (It's ther best water park I have been to, something for every age group). The old water park near the hotel closed some years ago and has now been demolished.
You will need a car if you want to go exploring in the mountains and see the villages. There are some lovely places to see. There are bus trips, but they can be expensive depending on how many people in your group.
PM me if you need any more help!

When I first visited Cyprus in the mid-1980s, the Poseidonia was the place to stay in Limassol - we stayed in the Arsinoe, which is on the opposite side of the road.

It's an excellent hotel right on the sea. There's also a very good bar on the other side of the road next to the Arsinoe. It's called Mianco and well worth a visit.

Enjoy your stay!

Hi

Someone on a local forum I visit is looking for information on this hotel. It has received no reviews on the Hotel Review part of this site.

Someone must have been there recently? Can anyone provide any info for me please?

Hi,

I posted this question myself in June and from the information I received via pm, it was refurbished about 2 years ago and I had some pictures of the pool, which looked really nice. Other than this I am also looking for more reviews.
