We're thinking of going to Thailand next year for our honeymoon. No dates have been set yet but we're thinking of either end of February or May. Never been to Thailand before but would like to go to Bangkok for 3 / 4 nights first then on to somewhere like Koh Samui or Phuket for a week or so afterwards. We're really not sure where to go in either place, or which would suit us better location wise, or for things to do etc. If anyone can offer us some advice or suggestions that would be great. We want to combine relaxation with some sightseeing.

A lot may depend on when your going...in Feb I would choose Phuket or Krabi, in May I might be more inclined towards Koh Samui. All three destinations will offer a variety of things to do away from the beach such as island hopping and elephant treks, temples to visit etc and all offer lively and quieter resorts to choose from.
As its your honeymoon check out the speciall offers that some operators give...some times room upgrades, specail meals.

Thats good to know we can do elephant trekking and island hopping in all three areas as they're both things we'd definitely like to do, just a matter of deciding where now!
