Would anyone like to share tips/advice for booking a hotel in Spain for family's
It's a nightmare every time with us, spending more time finding the right Hotel (that will have us) than the actual stay there. We have 3 children 12,10 & 3 years old, live in France and drive down to Spain at least trice a year and don't have a problem sharing the same room (peace of mind,6th floor balconies etc....)The majority of Hotel web sites can't handle 2 children never mind 3 sharing the same room showing "no available rooms" to every search .We have found that the only solution is to "lie" and book for 2 adults,2 children & ask for a cot but are not over happy with this situation, especially after last year when we arrived at one Hotel on the Costa Brava that wouldn't let us have our room saying that it was impossible to put a cot in it and fobbed us off with a manky apartment!
Any help advice/experiances much appreciated.
Cheers Jason
I can only speak from limited experience, but the Golden Taurus Park Resort in Pineda (Costa Brava) has family suites which sleep 5 (the 5th being aged 12 or under). It's a Thomson Superfamily hotel, we've been twice and would highly recommend it. Look at the reviews on here to see what others thought.
I would say that most H10 hotels are good for kids, the have kids club (activies etc..) games, mini golf, parks, all on their sites.
Problem is that due to our business comitments we always have to do the last minute web sites to find accommodation and hence dont have much choice!!
INVALID URL most of their hotels are from the H10 range in salou. Thats who i used. They are normally really good on price.
if you get you last minute deal from Best club cap salou with travel republic! If it's rubbish we dont want to know!
Had to make a consession-NO Parking-Gunna be fun!
Had a look at mytravel, only one hotel available Calafornia Palace (with out description)
Suprised that there are not more people that struggle to get Hotels with 3 kids.
Cheers once again

Website for the Hotel also mentions parking. You could e-mail or phone them and ask about it. http://www.besthotels.es/html/fitxa/fitxa.php?c_hotel=1
A lot of the websites qoute "Garage/parking" for this Hotel, turns out that they just have a few places outside the Hotel on a first come basis @ 50 euros/week and the guy I talked to did'nt sound very optimistic!

Cap Salou is a bit quieter than the main part of Salou, so you should be ok parking somewhere near your Hotel. When we where on the bus and passing that area, there were cars parking with people just visiting for the day. Hope that helps. Karen
That's what we were hopeing, we drove down and stayed at the Hacienda in Pineda in 2005 which was too "out of it" with a view of the oil Refinary in Tarragona and thought that Cap Salou would be a nice compromise.
Cheers Jason
Yeah we also stayed in La Pineda, but in Donaire, right on the beach. We prefer quieter areas usually, but this year are staying at Port Salou as we spent so much time travelling to Salou last time for the theme and water park. I agree about the oil refinary but Tarragon itself is lovely. Lots of History and culture. My son is into art & photography and he loved the sites. Karen
we have had the same problem for years, the mediterranean village have rooms for 5+6 people but are on self catering basis but you can pay to use their restaurant which was reasonable when we last visited also when looking to book on websites jason sometimes they have interconnecting rooms but are not clearly displayed until you try to book it ,we went to the calypso last year with thomsons and had a huge room with an interconnecting door which led to another room which also had another bathroom and was ideal for the 6 of us although that hotel was a bit to busy for my liking.
i noticed you also posted on the cala font hotel thread jason,we originally booked this hotel last year only to change our minds due to dogs been allowed to stay at the hotel but we originally booked two rooms for 4 people and we were going to just use the one room for sleeping and the other for the suitcases /inflatables etc all you have to do is ask via email for the rooms to be next to each other and the cost of the two rooms was cheaper than going to the calypso hotel
You are much better off booking a private appartment.
Hiring a car from the airport and stocking up for food and drinks at the nearest big supermarket to the accomodation.
You can have a really cheap holiday in a luxury appartment for six this way with 2 bathrooms ,,air conditioning ,,,etc etc
i have booked seperates i have booked golden avenida with thomson at £371 for the 5 of us and ryanair flights at £417 from liverpool. so i know they accept 2 adults and 3 kids
Cost us £735/week (full board) for us lot at the Best Club Cap Salou.
Appartment is obviously the way to go next time if we can find one that does food too as working in the catering trade the last thing we want to do on Hol's is to cook
Thanks for replys
Jason
