Hi,
Off to Kuala Lumpur and Borneo in 5 weeks! a have a couple of questions,
1, Does anyone know if there is any formal dress required for any of the restaurants at the hotel?
2, We are doing a tour so we have 3 days at the magellan off on tour for 2 nights then back to the magellan for 4 nights, so we were wondering what happens with our luggage while we are away as we are only taking a large rucksack with us, do we keep our room? or do they keep are luggage safe somewhere?

Who are you doing the tour through? I'm sure they will have arranged storage- I wouldn't count on keeping your room on but you might be lucky.
For dress for restaurants- I would have thought that if you avoid shorts you should be ok. You may find that dress is pretty informal though.We have a great review of it here

Wheres Stacey - shes just been. The Magellan is a fairly relaxed resort hotel so the dress code is likely to be smart casual in the evening. Having said that I've seen people sitting in shorts in the evening in many Malaysian resort hotels...I've only visited the Magellan during the day for a drink so was wearing shorts then.

Our tour is with Thomas Cook, I think It is going to be a holiday where we live out of the suitcase! I am guessing they will arrange storage as we have a flight then a speed boat to start the tour so cannot imagine lugging 2 suitcases with us for the 3 days! just bought a big rucksack
