It is my first go at this anyway I was wondering if anyone had stayed at the HOtel Thalassa Monastir and what is was like for them???
Help would be really good as we have a great deal and do not know what to do next
I stayed there twice last year - it's a really lovely hotel (the nicest I've stayed in in Tunisia) - spotlessly clean, right on the beach and lovely food. It's an ideal hotel if you want a relaxing break. It's actually directly opposite Monastir airport (but you honestly don't notice as much noise as you'd expect) so don't hang around for stragglers on the bus - jump in a taxi and you'll be there in a nanosecond. It's situated in Skanes which is the only downfall - there's nothing much there other than hotels really, but you can travel cheaply by taxi into Monastir/Sousse/Port el Kantaoui.
If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to help - but my advice would be to go for it - you'll have a lovely time! You'll find reviews on Thomson's website and maybe here too (though I haven't looked).
Thanks for that - is there much to do for the children I have a 9 nine year old and a 3 year old ?
They have dedicated childrens' entertainers and the children seemed to enjoy their time with them in the day. There's a timetable of activities every day (e.g. volleyball, boules, darts, belly dancing aqua aerobics, competitions etc.) some of which I'm sure your 9 year old will enjoy. They also have a 'mini disco' in the evenings (before the adult entertainment). This is much the same as other hotels - what is noticeable is that Tunisians adore children and all staff will bend over backwards to make sure that the children enjoy themselves. Hope you have a great time
