Glad you enjoyed it, I have been to Poland a couple of times, hired a car and we saw lots of places, only place we did not like was Warsaw.

I visited Krakow a few months ago, it's possibly not an obvious place for a holiday, but isn't it lovely! :) unfortunately it's become the "new Prague" for lairy Brits on stag nights etc, and they're poised to ruin the whole experience for other tourists, I think :(

Spent 10 days in 2005 travelling around Poland on the public Transport, Fantastic country. Went three days at one point without seeing any British.

I went to Poland a couple of weeks ago and absolutely hated everything about it. It's strange how a country changes on peoples subjective opinions.

Hi o0o000....where in Poland did you go to?! No-one will like everywhere they go to but sometimes it's a matter of staying in the wrong place and having bad experiences..if you stayed somewhere different could be a different story!

I went to Zakopane Krakow, and Warsaw. I had a horrible time in Zakopane and the stays in Krakow and Warsaw didn't cancel it out. Your probably right though tinka14.

Oooh! You followed in my footsteps then o0o000!!!
Now I am of Polish blood but I won't hold it against you!!! :D My hubby and I went to Poland a few yrs ago to Warsaw, Krakow and Zakopane.
We stayed at the Polonia Palace in Warsaw and loved it....Warsaw itself isn't a pretty city (well in some parts like the Lazienki Park it is very pretty) but we really enjoyed it...for the most part that was because of the hotel. We also enjoyed Krakow....we stayed at the Atrium hotel which was more expensive and no way near as nice as the Polonia Palace (it was a bit of an Ikea kitted out place) but it was ok. Loved the food places in Krakow..I would say that it's a lot prettier than Warsaw for sure....it's interesting what you say about Zakopane..how long did you stay? We stayed for 3 nights..at first we weren't sure about the place at all, it was very busy and commercialised, we had an appalling meal service experience in one of the traditional restaurants  (despite me speaking fluent Polish) which ended up with us eating in the Pizza Hut for the next 2 nights!!!!  However, we persevered and once we got back to nature and went for some walks, we saw the real Zakopane....it can't have been that bad as we are booked to go back to Poland in Jan 2008 to Zakopane for the Ski jumping and a few nights in Krakow! Where did you stay in Zakopane?
