Never having been to the Costa Brava I was wondering which may be the best resort for us, somewhere that will have enough to keep an 11 year old boy entertained for 2 weeks but not too rowdy. Tossa de mar sounds nice but the beach doesn't appear to be too brilliant, can anyone help (we plan on flying to Gerona)

I think Tossa might be a little too quiet for your son ,it has more of a laid back atmosphere and think either Lloret or Calella would have more to keep him entertained . All along the costa brava the beaches are more of a gritty kind of sand , a lot depends on what you like to do .
I would say Llroet. Callella is also good but not as good as Llroet. Definitely not Pineda.
