If you like Chinese food then Pagoda on Nissi Avenue is fantastic - better than anything we have at home and the staff are brilliant. We are frequent visitors to Protaras but go to Ayia Napa specifically to go to Pagoda.

Like Ann we are frequent visitors to Protaras, fly out again 19th June.
We also head into Napa a couple of times during the fortnight and head straight for the Los Bandidos Mexican restaurant - fantastic.
It does get very busy though and seems to be very popular with the various holiday reps in the area.

Cheers :glynis

Going to Ayia Napa in a couple of weeks time.
Can any of you recommend any really good restaurants to try?
(Like most food but particularly Indian and Mexican). Also my husband likes a good steak or kebab.
Thanks.

So many great restaurants in Ayia Napa. I think its got better restaurants than any other place I've visited.

Clarabels does fantastic steaks and is my favourite restaurant in Ayia Napa. As advised already El Bandidos is the best Mexican in the resort (try the strawberry margaritas to finish!). I also like Sapporo which is a Japanese where you will be entertained by the chefs who cook the food in front of you at your table. Fiji is a great Polynesian restaurant situated above Clarabels and Limelight is great for meat dishes - pork, lamb and chicken cooked on the spit and huge portions.

Hiya. I can highly Cavo Restaurant, Fountain Court, Ayia Napa (very good friends of mine who own it). Its near the Japanese Restaurant not far from Nissi Ave. Also The Wayang Chinese Restaurant in The Square (good friends with owner). Plenty of good restaurants on the road going up to The Square as well. If you can't decide which to go for, you could try KFC or MacDonalds!!!!

My Thai.
Flames.
Blueberries.

Also Cavo and Clarabels as noted above.

Must have caught Limelight on a really bad night in June as we were very disappointed and wouldn't return. Amongst other niggles why serve alcohol in open miniature bottles? The fact that they have been opened doesn't prove that you are really getting what it states on the bottle - and that's the only reason I can think of for using miniatures in the first place.

Cant recall the name of the place but there is an indian that is up some stairs, with an outside patio type seating area, quite close to the monastry area, where the artists are doing portraits.

Its a superb restaurant and we visited it (from Protaras) three times during our two week stay, really really fresh tasting, superb!!

Starsky that sounds like the place called Fiji, is that it?

Name doesn't ring a bell - but then I'm not sure I would remember anyway, the main "inside" restaurant had lots of double doors that opened up to the outside patio area and the entrance was up a staircase from street level, near where a lot of the buses pulled up.

Need to visit again ;)

edit - actually sounds like the restaurant below Fiji :)

The Indian is called Taste of India its closer to the square than Fuji, both are excellent, Limelight as mentioned before is also very good and the Italian next to it La Casa Di Napa is also well worth a vist, we thought that at Clarabel the food was good but you have to wait such a long time for your food the, mexican opposite there is also good El Chihuahua......so many to choose form I can honestly say in all the years we have been going to Ayia Napa we have never had a bad meal.

Thanks for all the great tips!
Will be needing a corset after the fortnight.

we went to limelight and although the food was good and huge portions the service was very bad and it was not even busy
it was not late either and they were more content to start tidying up than serving the customers

Oh dear, and I'd heard such good reports about the Limelight!
Should we give it a miss then? Where do you recommend? :o

I can only give you my opinion but on our last trip to Ayia Napa last year we found the service in Limelight to be excellent and the restaurant was nearly full. We had more banter with our waiter than at any other restaurant we ate at. They had a live singer on aswell which added to the atmosphere.

However if you're in doubt don't go there. Theres loads of other fantastic restaurants so you'll be spoilt for choice anyway.

We were in Ayia Napa in June and ate in Limelight 3 times during the 2 weeks, every time the food and service was excellent, the waiters were very attentive taking time to come over and chat and tell us jokes. I can only speak from our experience and we would not hestitate in going there again.
