Can anyone please recommend a good shampoo for use after chlorine use each day ( swimming/spa).
Have highlighted hair so am not sure which is a good one to use
Thanx
hi sunseeker, i have coloured hair and find that using shampoo with a bit of a colour boost in it keeps the hilights looking fresh. they are more moisturising than the swim type chlorine bashing ones which seem to dry me up a bit! i suppose you could alternate between the 2-depending on how heay your bags already are, again like myself!! last year i bought some boots 'sun and swim' from the airport and i used it once or twice a week to make sure the chlorine did not start making me look brassy, but i needed a tonne of conditioner afterwards, looked like a thatched roof when i came out of the shower!!!
boots sun and swim range my wife swears buy the 2 in 1 it has conditioner in it and she has long hair and can get a brush through it with out extra conditioner. but she also do use the leave in conditioner they sell in the range. she say the serum thingy protector leave her hair greasy..
Anyone know where I can get GHD Mark 4 hair straighteners from. I must insist on them being at a reasonable price as so far they are out side my ever so slim budget.
Just back from Mexico where the water was incredibly hard. I used the sunsilk shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair, and apart from being slightly fly away by about day 10 it was fine. The sun and swim do a good leave in conditioner and Boots' glossy locks spray to protect from chlorine and salt damage is excellent.
Allmen, -Have you tried ebay?
A tip is: before you get in the pool rinse your hair throroughly so it is already wet and apparently absorbs less of the chlorine.
Ok - Thankyou all for the tips and product advice- spoilt for choice now
My hair is quite long and highlighted but I never notice a difference with the expensive types of shampoo. I normally use a bog standard one but swear by the Aussie 3 minute miracle conditioner. (I go diving and end up tieing my hair in a messy bun and its like a birds nest when I try and shower prior getting ready to go out so this stuff is great!)
I use Vo5 Hot Oil Shower Works before I go on holiday, mid way through the holiday and then again at the end of the holiday, and find it makes the "straw" feeling disappear.
Allmen, Not GHD straighteners I know, but Boots have got lots of really good straighteners in their clearance sale. Half of the marked price on the box and these have already been reduced. Got some great Tresemme ones yesterday for £10 (were originally £40). My hair is the frizziest hair ever, but these work wonders on it. !!! Also bikinis half price.
Thanks all for the info will have a look at them all.
Allmen - you could treat her to one or two? Denny
The official UK GHD site has straighteners from £69, salon type are £95 you also get free thermal protector spray, thermal mat, and free next day delivery. I ordered some yesterday for one of my foster-girls and they arrived at 11am this morning. Linda x
