hiya,
me and my hubby are coming to majorca for a 4 day trip for my birthday in october, and i need a bit of advise!!!
i decided on staying in either can pistella or el arenal because they are so close to the airport and i hate going anywhere where i have a long transfer time especially saying as im only there for 4 days..
so could someone please tell me which is the best resort. from what i have seen el arenal looks nicer and has better hotels?
i want to stay all inclusive just so it saves a bit of spending money, so i have been looking at the palma bay hotel and the hotel luna tropical park. i have been quoted £138 for both hotels for both of us all inclusive which i thought was a great price??? has anybody stayed at either of these hotels and can anyone tell me what they are like, i have read so many mixed reviews i dont know what to think.
Also what is the weather like in october please tell me it will still be warm, doesnt have to be scorching just warmer than the uk.
Also the last thing is the transfers, i have been quoted £30 return for me and my hubby on the shuttle, is that an ok price or does anyone know how much we would pay in a taxi to be honest i thought 30 quid was a good price but if anyone knows any cheaper ways im all up for saving money.
thank you in advance for any replies and advice its all welcome, i have been to majorca twice before when i was young stayed at the mariner club apartments in alcudia, and the palma nova princess which were both lovely so really would like somewhere nice this time too.
thanks again

I go to Can Pastilla on SATURDAY, about 20 years since last there. Arenal caters for Germans and menus not in English. Can Pastilla is geared more to British but there is a mix of nationalities. I am staying at Hotel Leo so will let you know how we get on.I have book a private taxi transfer with janerbus €14 each way used them before 100% reliable. Hope this helps.CBG
I've just returned yesterday from a 4 day mini break in Arenal, with my partner and 9 year old son, and we've had a fab time and will defo be going back. I was really apprehensive about going, I went to Arenal in 1986 and was told that it had changed considerably and that it was the German 18-30 place and don't expect to get any sleep, which is not what we found at all, however if you want wall to wall British bars then this certainly isn't the place to go, we found all Nationalities there both young and old, including plenty of Brits. The beach and promenade is fabulous, lovely clean fine sand, and the sea is very shallow and even warm! We paid 17 euros one way in a taxi to and from the airport and it takes only about 10 minutes. The all inclusive hotel price certainly sounds good to me, we stayed in a cheapy 2 star and that was far better than I expected.
We stayed at the palma bay club about 2yrs ago. This is a complex not just a hotel, it has 3 hotels and some little appartments in the complex. The food is fine normal stuff you could expect for a 3 star hotel, full english breakfast plus cereals etc. There is plenty of choice for mid-day and evening meals, you shouldn't have a problem finding something. There is also a snack bar which is self service and is basic but offers sandwiches, chips, d.i.y toastys and tea coffee cakes etc.
There are three or four pools one adults only. They have an onsite shop selling newspapers etc and a games room for the kids as well as a kids club.
The day time and evening entertainment is hit and miss, they do bingo and a kids disco to start off with then they usually put on a show that starts around 10ish.
It is about a 10min walk down a hill to the beach, the beach was lovely.
The room we had was a fair size had 3 beds, tv, etc. I would reccomend this hotel if you don't mind walking to the beach.

i am soooo excited cos we havent been abroad this year, due to money problems so we ended going to one of the haven caravan parks in scarborough. mind you the kids loved it, but you cant beat a holiday abroad though can you and for the price we are paying it isnt breaking the bank as the flights are cheap too.
thanks again guys and any more info is still greatly appreciated, ive been trying to look for the hotels on google earth, found arenal but havent a clue where the hotels are ha ha!!!
