we normally go out the last week in sept and have not been disappointed with the weather. I agree that June was a strange months for such alot of cloud and distinct lack of sunshine. Have you booked?
not yet,looking at the Hotel Bouganville Playa,not a bad price either,need to make my mind up soon 
Bouganville is in a good spot near the San eugenio shopping centre and close to the Marina. Plenty of choice of entertainment bars in the vicinity 
the 2 hotels are the totally opposit ends of the resort.
but you have done the bittacora, and i know that you won't be dissapointed with the boungivilla.
great location on the beach front, near loads of bars and near the harbour at puerto colon, which has a great beach and loads of bars and restaurnats.
Also it will only take you 20 mins to walk to the bittacora end of town.
just book it and go for it.
