Seeing as you are unsure about going north or south, how about heading to Panjim for a start, or straight to the south, i'd say Benaulim, or as jock said Colva.

I would have said Bogmalo as it is closest but with Colva you will find accomadation without booking

and is Lassi suggested Benaulim would also be a great choice.

Thanks for the speedy reply..

Looks like I'll have to research Colva, easy enough to get to I'm sure :)
And (on the map) it looks near enough to a train line for moving on.

So would you say Colva is middle of the road between hustle bustle and very relaxed quiet beaches??

Head to Colva beach, face the sea and turn left, keep walking and within 5/10 minutes you are on quiet beach and heading towards Benaulim :)

I like the sound of get to beach and take left if nothing seems quite right and end up somewhere different. Are Colva & Benaulim really that close?

Looks like it gonna be Colva first stop folks then see what happens.

Thank you

Colva to Benaulim is probably 20 minutes walk along the beach but there are some shacks along the way :)

So an Irish man won't dye of thirst then? :)

I think not and the view is great along the way :)

Cheers Tightjock,,

sounds like a good beginning to not having a plan....

yep if the first place doesn't feel right or there's nowhere to stay I can move under my own steam to somewhere else.

Really handy to be able to sound confident with the first taxi driver about where I think I want to go.. :)
