hi all . does anyone know how long we need to have left on our passport to fly Ryanair to France . Going over for christmas and my sons passport runs out march and ours May so a bit unsure if the 6 months rule still applies for France
lyn
sorry just read this on ryanairs site so im assuming its ok and you can travel until its expires what do you think. Does the EEA mean the same as the EU.
Passports for travel outside the EEA must have six months validity beyond the date of entry
I think you should be fine. If you are worried, perhaps having a look at the Passport Office's website may reassure you.
Thank you Al . checked the UK french embassy website and it says If you are a British citizen, you only need a valid passport or ID for the whole length of your stay in France so looks like im OK but to be safe I may get my sons renewed now .
lyn ... if you are quick, one advantage of renewing now is that you will avoid the passport fees increase effective from 4 October.
Thanks David I didnt know the prices were increasing . thought £66 was already a ripoff for his first adult passport still he,s working now so he can pay . dont think he will be very pleased though , I wouldnt
You think £66 is a rip off? I had to pay the British Embassy in Paris €185 plus Chronopost fee for the return of the said passport ... ie €200 in total !!! (UK citizen permanently resident in France)
