Hello Eddy, There is a train that goes to Lisbon most days not sure of the times, the train station is about 6km out side of Albufeira with a bus service to it.
Or you can get a bus from the new bus station in Albufeira, both take about 4 hours, check for timeings when you get there from the tourist office on the 5th of Outubro street or the bus station about 15 minutes walk from the town.

First train Albufeira to Lisbon is at 0718am another at 0928. Train station is indeed 4 miles/6km out of town and a bus leaves at 0645 from the bus station to connect with the first train but there is no bus connection for the 0928. Taxi required - cost about €8.

There are buses to Lisbon from the Calicos Bus Terminal (a mile/15 minutes walk from the old town) at 0655, 0845, 0910, 0945, 1030 and 1140. Operated by a number of different companies. Some EVA Lisbon services also stop in the Old Town at Ave. da Liberdade.

Details of the latter and on-line bookings at http://www.rede-expressos.pt

Advance reservation needed for both bus and train to secure a seat on the service you require; no standing allowed so if you turn up on spec and bus/train is full, you will be given a seat on the next available service.

I'd save your money and watch the match on the telly in a bar in Albufeira, less time to get home after the inevitable defeat
