I have a sterling and euro account in our bank in Tenerife. I have to deposit any sterling into the sterling account first and then transfer it to the euro account in order to get the better exchange rate. If it is paid directly into the euro account we normally get about 2 cents less, not a lot but if you are exchanging a lot of money at any time then it soon mounts up. On saying that yesterday I would have got 1.35 , which means exchange bureaus would have been giving approx 1.32 - 1.33
