Hi everyone. This thread was brought to my attention yesterday. As the Managing Director of TravelRepublic.co.uk I would like to shed a bit of light on the situation if I may.

1. We have been delighted by the high response rate to our request for reviews but this has created a major backlog.
2. Unfortunately, a tiny minority of customers write reviews containing offensive material and as a result there was a manual process to check the reviews before they were published.
3. We are currently introducing some new software to automate the screening for offensive comments and expect to have all reviews up on the site as soon as this software is implemented. This should take place within the next couple of days.
4. There is definitely no bias in the reviews that are published.
5. We are 100% independent from all the hotels.
6. With over 30,000 hotels on our website it would be crazy for us to seek to shield any specific hotel from criticism.
7. We want the reviews to help customers make a well-informed decision about their choice of hotel and therefore we are motivated to publish hotel reviews without bias.
8. We are actually quite proud of the reviews which we know are 100% genuine. It is not possible to write a review on our website without having made a booking at the hotel.

I can see from the comments on this post that the non-appearance of some hotel reviews may have created the impression that something untoward was going on. However, this is absolutely not the case and I would like to thank you all for your feedback. As soon as we have all outstanding reviews live on our site I will post again with an update.

I've just had a look at Travel Republic's site and, as promised, the new reviews are now on, warts and all, at least in the Tunisia section. I'm sure these will be much appreciated and no doubt help to boost the confidence of potential customers.

I've brought this topic back to the top of the page because I think it is only fair to inform you that my review is indeed now on Travel Republic's site.

Following my last post in this topic, I periodically looked on the site and after a few weeks I gave up looking, when a review was posted from a holidaymaker who had travelled after my date.
I was comparing prices last night with a view to return to Spain in 2008 and for some bizarre reason I looked at the hotel reviews where I stayed in September and lo and behold, my unfavourable review is now there.

I appreciate that the poster "Clarendon" took the time to post in HT and explain the situation, but had his/her company generated a simple email explaining the situation on receiving my review, instead of sending me an e-mail to escape the winter and book another holiday, then this topic would never have been started by me.
