I was wondering do they have rods/tackle etc to fish with that you can hire or do you have to bring your own. If they do does anyone know how much or is it cheaper to buy some (if possible) over there

You can talk to guys on the beach and hire it very cheap and the beach bars will cook your fish for you
best to take your own gear especially if you want to do shore fishing. if you go in a boat, they will normally supply the gear.

I thought maybe the MD would have some to use in their lakes,the kids just want to fish the lakes (not to seriously) would some line and hooks do
