goaliesmum,

First Choice / Thomson are now part of the same group. Both use the same flight, operated by a Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER. These are your best bet.

Next year Thomsonfly will not be flying to Goa at all however First choice will be. Although we are one group, it will be a First choice A/C not a Thomsonfly one. This has been confirmed to me by the Thomson GOA area manager. First Choice will have five aircraft/flights per week from various airports.

The reason for the descrepancy showing no First choice holiday is because although it is a First choice plane, Thomson (the holiday company) have chartered the whole aircraft for their holiday makers sole use - a bit like Thomson do now with Thomsonfly.

The reasoning behind this is because First Choice have been going into Goa for some years and historically have better "slots" (landing times to you and me) and it is thought that these will be more attractive, for some reason Goa airport will not at this point allow the swapping of the slots. hope this helps

If you go on the http://www.thomsonfly.com website and search for the flights, any flight with a code FCAXXXX will be on a First choice a/c and any with a TOMXXXX will be on a blue plane... basically...

DAZBO & BY-TOM-AMM-FCA

Thankyou both for the great answers, that has really cleared things up

Can I bother you further and ask would you know what seat pitch the aircraft servicing Goa will have

(Can you tell we usually fly with First Choice and like many others have also had a Monarch nightmare  )

goaliesmum,

Seat pitch is 33" in economy, 36" in premium. Refer to the specific airline threads for more details. I have detailed flight reports for First Choice, links on the FCA thread.

Hi Darren

Thanks for the reply, this is probably not the right area to post this now, but unsure where is right!!

We have now booked holiday, with Thomas Cook, Birmingham to Goa Jan 2009, our flight code is 20L13 and carrier is Thomson flying, will this still be the aircraft you detailed

Thanks if you can help with this

goaliesmum,

Aircraft as above, Boeing 767-300/ER. 20L13 is the flight reference number from the brochure, the flight number will have the airline prefix (FCA - probably TOM by then) followed by 3 numbers. All your flight details will be sent with your confirmation.
