We spent a lovely couple of weeks in Vendee last summer, only downside was that our girls, age 7 & 5, missed going to kids' club - they only have a smattering of French and on a predominately French campsite they understandably were not catered for.
This summer we are thinking of going on a Carisma holiday to Brittany - does anyone have experience of their kids' club? Or if not Carisma, anywhere you can recommend with suitable kids' clubs for English speakers??
Thanks!
Our older daughter who is 7 has used the Eurocamp/Keycamp Fun Station the last couple of years and has really enjoyed it. The leaders tend to be a mix of English and Dutch speakers but all the Dutch have very good English. The programme is very varied and they do crafts, board games, sports, treasure hunts, t-shirt painting, themed days (e.g.pirates), etc. Last summer the weather wasn't great when we were in France and they geared the programme accordingly and one afternoon because it had been so wet they moved into the bar (not open at the time) and watched a DVD. Another day they started later and had a pizza party (saved us feeding her later). They also had a French breakfast one morning. The normal activities are all free but the ones involving food incurred a small charge.
We're going with Canvas Holidays this year and their Hoopies Club has been recommended to us by several people.

Thanks for that - sounds like a great kids' club! Our 2 were spoilt by a fab First Choice club that they went to in Majorca - they even got a day out horse riding with that one! While we are all for them embracing local culture and befriending children of other nationalities, which they did last year, they really missed some 'independent' time away from mum & dad doing fun activities.
Will go and check out the companies you have suggested now!

Our kids have been a bit too old for clubs for some years now but we have used the Canvas hoopie clubs and the kids loved them. Canvas also used to (may still do) organise family activities so you get to meet loads of other families and the kids get to make friends. Canvas get most of their custom from the UK, Eire and Holland.
