Many holiday companies comprise more than one 'name', and it is possible that your flight was booked by one company and is being handled by another. Whatever the reason, don't panic, do what it says on your joining instructions and have a great time.

Mytravel and Thomas Cook have just merged so they are now the same company.

I know that they have merged, but i thought that mytravel have their own seperate check in area, which is downstairs in terminal one?

It says on my tickets to check in at the thomascook desks, which are near the monarch desks and other airlines.

I'l have a look when i get there, we always get to the airport in plenty of time

There's a lot of building work going on in Terminal 1 at the moment. MYT's check-in desks are no longer downstairs, they are in the main check-in hall. Use the Thomas Cook desks as instructed (desks 1-7 from memory but it's a while since I've been in T1). If you see photo's of aircraft as you queue, they are nothing to do with me

They are still there as far as I know but they'll be disapearing at the end of Feb when My Travel as an airline ceases. I've not been asked to do any for Thomas Cook as yet so if anyone from TCX is reading, you know how to get in touch!

You can book a holiday with Thomas cook to Goa from Birmingham but travel with Thomson, the practice is called "sharing"

This happens when each operator cannot fill one or even two aircraft from a certain airport or time/date but can sell some holidays profitably.. therefore they approach each other. It is not restricted to operators who are merging like Thomas cook/My travel and First Choice and Thomson although this will generally be the norm from now on.
