It wont be that hot!!,been ourselves mid March, was very windy and quite cold, but sunny,we needed our jackets on in the day.Try the Puka Irish bar on the road in front of the Kanta Hotel just before the marina, not a bad night out, football and Kareoke, they bring you dishes of popcorn and crisps with your drinks, gets quite busy in there, not much entertainment in the hotels of an evening.
thanx...yea will try there...take it if not that hot there wont be any watersports or anything?
Definitely neither hot (sunbathing or outdoor pool a no-no) nor busy - Tunisia doesn't pick-up weatherwise until late April/May and that's when the tourist season starts and the hotels start getting busy. Wouldn't have thought there'd be much in the way of watersports (the sea's too cold!!!) but there'll be quad-bikes if that's your thing? I'd hazard a guess that you may get bored, unless you want to undertake trips around Tunisia - there's not much around for young couples really, especially in the winter season. You'll need to head into Sousse for any half-decent nightlife. Sorry if that sounds negative, but I wouldn't want you to have a false impression of what to expect - I love Tunisia, but would have hated it when I was 22!!!
Zahra is right. We have been to Tunisia 5 times and enjoy it,but it only a chill out holiday for us out of the summer season,we enjoy staying in a nice 4 star hotel, good food, swim in the indoor pool, and walk around, only if the price is good.We go to Spain and Turkey other times of the year.Just enjoy the break,we find it very cheap for most things, taxis, leather goods, sunbeds.A good evening excursion which opened last summer is medinat alzahra parc,a tunisian evening and show, with Lights and Lasers, excellent, cost us £26 each in October.
we are going in mid April so hope the weather's going to be o/k..
only wanting a quiet break before my girlfriend goes to uni so shudnt be to bad....might venture to sousse for a nite out though...any thing else anyone would recommend to do
You must certainly go into Sousse to visit the Medina as it's an experience not to be missed. Never pay the first price they quote as they expect you to haggle (as do taxi drivers) - start much lower and walk away if they wont meet your highest offer: you will often find they will then capitulate. Go into the Soula Centre in Sousse first (a fixed price shop) to give you an idea of prices. Try and see The Changing Ladies, an excellent drag show. They appear at various hotels but are also at the Casino in Sousse one evening a week (I think it's Wednesdays). There are two other similar shows, Dream Girls and Golden Girls which aren't bad but not a patch on Changing Ladies. Incidentally the Casino only puts on shows now and is not a proper casino. There are a few nightclubs around and quite a popular one called Bonapartes is also in Sousse. I haven't been myself (definitely wrong age group) but the younger crowd seem to like it. Go down to the port in PEK one evening and sit having a drink or meal watching the musical fountains. I hope you have a lovely time and come home wanting to go back - it will be my 15th visit in a couple of weeks.
