Can't remember about Las Palmas, but I wouldn't rely on an airport ATM.

We went to Tenerife just days after the euro came in and I didn't bother getting any euros with intentions of getting them at the airport. There were 3 ATM's in Arrivals, but every one of them was out of order. Fortunately we had transfers arranged and didn't need to pay a taxi or anything.

We have a private transfer booked that I will need some euros for. I begrudge changing money here as I always use my Nationwide card abroad and get a much better rate.

All I can suggest, and what I would do if it happened again, is to ask them to stop at an ATM in resort before you get to your accommodation.

ATMs are upstairs

Out of the baggage reclaim turn right to the escalators at the top turn left towards the shop and there is a cafe just past there, there is 3 ATMs
