i booked to go to marmaris in january this year, then i was diagnosed with having cancer, im under going treatment but hope to have the all clear in a month or two.. but apparently because of this and under going chemo and radiotherapy im going to have to get a different insurance... whats this all about? surely if ive been given the all clear it shouldnt affect my insurance... should it?

it sounds silly age concern but my brother uses them he only 39

Some time ago I read an article and there was something on TV also about MacMillan Nurses.
They had set up a scheme to enable people in your position obtain insurance at a reasonable price, following complaints that exorbitant prices were being quoted by some companies.
Had a quick look on their website but could not find a link to that particular subject. Perhaps it would be easier to give them a ring.

I had a similar problem last year,had to cancel my holiday due to being diagnosed with Cancer, all is well now, but getting Insurance has been a pain in the B.......e. I eventually got insurance with Direct Line an annual cover was approx £143 for myself and my partner.This covered me if the breast cancer returned or I was ill with anything in connection with it.
I rang around but eventually I got fed up of repeating the story about my illness so went with D.L.
I found some insurance companies would offer to insure me but not cover for the breast cancer,or they would give me the option of cover or no cover. I felt I needed the security of insurance so wouldnt take that chance.

Have you tried Cover My Travels. They have a website where you can get an initial quote but you have to phone for cover for medical conditions. It didn't take too long and the price was much better than I was quoted elsewhere.
