I'm sure many of you have heard that Easyjet are expected to take over flights from Gatwick to Tunis from BA/GB from the end of March. I've heard from a contact in Tunisia, however, that BA themselves intend to fly 5 times a week, and at more convenient times than at present, leaving Gatwick at 11.55 and returning from Tunis at 15.30. I know it doesn't help Gloryboy, but it does give us southerners another option.
Hi, im flying from Belfast July 08 and our flights have been changed several times. On booking with Direct Holidays (first time i have used them) our flights where 06.00am departure then received a letter flight now leaving on the wed and not thurs at 21.15pm, but their web is still showing 06.00am departure so i called into dh and asked about flight times etc and was told departure time was on the wed at 06.00am and i should have received a letter from Thomas Cook to comfirm this still waiting..... also one min we are flying with mytravel then the next thomas cook airlines so was told to wait untill i receive my tickets for departure day, time and which airline we would be flying with. Think its just a case of wait and see what happens.
Hopefully it will be sorted out by July Haddy. My February flight from Stansted with Thomas Cook has changed from 15.15 to 06.00 which means I'll get there nice and early, even if I'm half asleep. Thomas Cook owns My Travel I think, so we could end up with either airline.
We have never had a problem, in fact we found the travelling easier as the children went to sleep, the secret is when you arrive it's straight to bed, don't wake your child let them wake naturally when they are ready, the second night we also have a reasonably earlier night.
On the return they tended to go to sleep during the transfer and again on the plane.
I wouldn't worry about the night flight.
Dave
Goodness knows what's happening with flights from Stansted. Thomas Cook took over this year and I flew with them in February but there don't seem to be any flights after about May and those are over £400. BA flights into Tunis seem the best value and timing, especially if you can be flexible on dates, departing Gatwick at 12.55 and returning from Tunis at 17.30. With Med Hotels doing a transfer from Tunis to Sousse for just over £5 it is well worth considering.
