We've decided on crete for our family holiday next year, and think Stalis is the right choice, the kids will be 14yr & 11yrs,we like a livley place,with lots of things to keep kids entertained, we're looking for a 3-4* self catering hotel/apartment,with a nice swimming pool,close to the beach, and within walking distance to the main resort.
Any help & suggestions much appreciated .

We stayed in Stalis two years ago at the Christiana Beach (booked through Firstchoice). Although the room was very basic the location was perfect! It is located pretty much on the beach (with just the swimming pool separating the beach from the apartments) and in the ideal position for all the bars and restaurants. Stalis is a really lovely place to stay - one of my favourite holidays! Malia is about a 5-10 minute walk down the road, but far enough away to not be disturbed by any of the louder bars. We went for a nosey one night - but it wasnt really our thing.
We stayed in a double room, which was just big enough for us - but I cant comment on the family rooms.

Thanks for that, i will take a look at that hotel. Also been looking at the socrates, anyone know what thats like ??
