hi everybody am a new member who needs advice.
am getting married in cyprus in september this year. me and my partner booked our hoilday with travel care last year and paid just over £3000 for 2 weeks we paid extra for early flights 10.30 leaving manchester . my parents and anuite and uncle booked there hoilday with low cost beds at the same time and on the same flight but just for a week in a hotel they had reqested. later on in the year we were told that our flight times have changed to 14.00 still on the same day but just later on. i wasnt to happy but i thought it happends so i just excepted it.but this week we have been told again they have changed again to 17.40 on the night and dont get to paphos untill12.30.and coming back we dont get back untill 16.45 in the morning. am not very happy as you can imagian
1.becouse it changed 3 times
2.ive book a mini bus for everybody to get down there
3.all the guest are going to have to take another day of work as they dont get back untill the early hours.
they is a flight at 8.20 on the same day but both companies are saying if we wont to go on the flight it will cost £89 per couple to change and £60 cancelation charge so it works out £500 to go on the earlyer fight but i dont see why we should pay ? ive rang both companies and have really gone mad and all there keep saying thats in the contract and they can do that BUT CAN THEY? i really need advice. oh and the hotel that my parents had booked has closed down so they have but then in another one they have only paid a deposit but when it comes to paying the rest they feel they will be paying for a hoilday that they havent got anything they have asked for. nicky from hull
Nicky can you confirm return flight time as you've said it doesn't get back until 16.45 which is 4.45 in the afternoon.
Regarding the outbound leg even with the 2 changes it still isn't over the 12 hours which would be classed as a major change so I doubt if there's anything you can do.
Is the above flight with the same company? Maybe that flight would have been more expensive at the outset with it being a good flight time. Who have you booked with ie who is your tour operator?

Each time the fights have changed so has the airways company and also the quality of flight and times as displayed below. We paid a fortune originally for yes 2 5* hotels but also for good flight times and company.

Nicky what are your holiday dates as per what was booked and now?
I've checked XL's website and they do indeed use Air Malta on some of their journeys. What I'm trying to check is that they infact have you returning on your correct date as, it appears with you having a late return flight you could, infact have to be out of your room for at least 12 mid-day which is a long time for you to be waiting around which will be another problem for you.

Another thing which seems a bit strange to me is the fact that on the FC and Air Malta flights the departure time for the return flights is before the outward flight has arrived..........? How can that be right?

It does seem very strange that our flight home time is 23.59. Had it been 1 minute more the date flying back to Manchester would have been 15th Sept not 14th. And for the guests who are staying 7 days are now flying out on the 8th which is a Monday and they now have to either loose a days pay or try to book an extra day off. Which ever we loose out because the airline have dramatically changed the flight times for everyone.
I don't know what we are going to do about the 12 noon situation as most hotels in the past have been quit flexible about this. But if we find out we need to hire a room for half a day then should the travel company compensate us for the cost?

Sorry I doubt if they will Nicky. You take a gamble when you book flights a year ahead I've always found.
