I don't think this year was typical lassigirl. As you know I was there in October and the rain we had didn't ruin the holiday at all. However, I have to point out that Calangute and Candolim were quiet so not sure what it would be like in other resorts. It may be too quiet.

We,ve been a couple of times in Oct. and apart from the odd shower it was fine, but hot. Dont know about the south, but up north , a few shacks up, but most just starting to get built. Loads of Indian short break tourists, so most food outlets were up and running, so no problems there. Everywhere lovely and green as well as a bonus. I think last Oct was a blip. Alan

Many thanks Fiona and gramps,
I tend to agree with you both that last year was unusual, I'm not worried about it being quiet, I would be thinking of Colva again, and know there are year round Domestic tourists . I might even be tempted to have a look at Calangute and Baga :D for a day trip.

I went 2 years ago on the first charter flight from uk. I quite enjoyed it, there were no shacks up in Candolim so it was up to Teama at lunchtime and everything was just getting going. Beach Road was a mess! but I enjoyed the newness of it all. Had a couple of outbursts of rain late afternoon but this March was much worse!

It will be a nice time for you to be there in October,I had been to Goa in September and we had some showers but overall we fully enjoyed our trip.Humidity will be a factor but you can totally ignore it while enjoying all green effects around you due to monsoon.

We are still at a bit of a loose end for our holiday which is on October 4th 2008.Any ideas what hotels or guesthouses are open anyone?

Quite like the idea of it being quieter but would like to think some of our favourite restaurants were open.
