Even British Airways are offering return flights from Manchester for £88 inc all taxes. The price of the actual return flight is £30 before tax.
It seems to me they must be holding the price up for some reason, last year we used them to go to Berlin and payed £70.00 return and to Rome we payed £110.00 again return for two. We have noticed the same thing if you want to go to Faro in Portugal there fares always seem a lot more than other places just as many miles away, we are of at the weekend to Madrid for a short break with B M I baby and that is £125.00 return for two.
So there price to me just does not add up has anybody ever used them to get to Malta and had a good price?
Dave.
Hi Dave fully agree with you mate, there prices are silly prices for a so called budget airline, so unless something drastic happens price wise then we won't ever be using them, much prefer Air Malta anyway and our loyalty is with them, but once again us Northeners lose out on cheap flights to Malta.
I'm also looking at booking for October Malta-Gatwick-Malta - several dates for Euro 90 return
Cheap indeed, as I have always said " a very wise man should not eat yellow snow or ever play leapfrog with a unicorn"
There's no such thing as cheap flights to Malta from Birmingham, except when completely out of season! We always seem to get really awful slots usually setting off so late that our arrival in Malta loses us a night and our week's holiday finishes up as 6 days. I think the airport's more interested in taking folks to Benidorm and other parts of Spain looking at the number of very nice convenient weekend flights there are!!!
Sliema2 - got your PM. Will reply in due course,
Trev
Ok Trev no probs, but it might take me a couple of days to reply as I am getting bogged down and stressed with work aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh
I've always found that if you book early with Air Malta their prices beat anyone. Incidently has anyone joined their Flypass scheme and if so has anyone tried to book a free flight or an upgrade?
I paid about Euro 40 for a return with Ryanair in January - can't see Air Malta beating that, no matter how early I book - their fuel surcharge is more than that - Ryanair sometimes charge less than the full airport taxes as well, whereas Air Malta never do- as a result, the cheapest possible Ryanair or Easyjet tickets is bound to be less than the cheapest possible Air Malta or BA one
Yes that is cheap, but this year I flew from manchester return with Air Malta for under £60.00.
I can never see Easyjet beating that.
Hi m&n, not leapfrog on this occasion still using the ice packs and going through physio from the last time , yes we are both flypass members and have been for a number of years, we go to the front of the ques at Manchester and Luqa, and we get to use the express lanes at passport control / security, asked recently exactly what our KM miles are worth at present and still waiting to hear a reply, I will chase it up again today me thinks.
We too are members and have accrued around 14,000 kmiles. However I have noticed just lately that only two check-inn desks are open at M/CR and there is no priority/club class desk
It is good at Luqa though. What and where is the express lane through passport control / security ?
Also while on the subject of cheap our local petshop was having a sale last weekend and they had a load of canaries that were going cheep
Caw for now
