Hi everyone, first post so apologies for the amount of questions, me and my girlfriend are going to be going to Benalmadena 7th - 21st June and staying at the Benal Beach hotel near the windmill roundabout. I was wondering whether anyone could help out with the following questions?
At malaga airport how far is it from the terminal to the train station and are the trains from the airport to Benalmadena often/expensive? How many stops is the train? Once at the train station in Benalmadena (I know its up the hill) is it easy to catch a taxi down to my hotel? Any way of checking train times beforehand?
I was thinking of maybe going on a trip or two as well can anyone reccommend any trips/tour operators? I'm already thinking of going to the water park at torremilinos, how much would this be with transfer?
In relation to my hotel how far and in what direction is 24hr square? Is this a good bar type area or is it more clubs and bar staff dragging people in off the streets to their bar?
Also for anyone who recently visited what sort of exchange rate/travellers cheque commission would I be able to find?
And lastly how bad is the traffic problems currently around Malaga airport if I decide to get a taxi from the airport?

1. The train station is about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on how fit you are,how much luggage you are carrying/pulling.Trains are every half hour.If my memory serves me right there are about at least 7 stops before Benalmadena /Arroyo de la Miel.Go to http://www.renfe.es/cercanias/malaga/index.html for exact times fares etc.
There is a taxi rank outside station.
2. Trips to Cordoba and Granada recommended. Easier to catch bus to Torremolinos water park and save yourself lots of money.
3. 24 hr sq turn left at main road head towards Torremolinos.Discos and bars.A 2 minute taxi away, or better still catch the bus on the main road, possibly1.40 euros fare.Save more money.
4. Dont know. Going by UK rates at moment possibly about 122/3.
5.Building work going on at airport.But taxi drivers know the where and when traffic jams are likely on approaches to Torremolinos and take alternative routes.Should have you at your hotel within 15-20 minutes.

it is only a short stroll to your apartments,otherwise a taxi by 24hr sq will be 5-7 euros.If you don`t leave too late you can catch 110 or 120 bus to your place,check on time table for last busses.110 goes as far as flatotel,but 120 goes to fuengarola.If the taxi`s are not outside 24, they will be just across the road.Bus stop is also just a few yrds away.
Stay away from 24 hour square its all clubs etc.There are lots of bars,restuarants around Bonanza Square (5 min walk uphill from benal) and the main road in front of the train station in Arroyo.
