Hi all, just booked to go to HV in Sharm el Sheik next Jun. The travel agent said that I might need to have vaccinations but its up to us whether we have them or not.
My wife is in a panic because she don't like needles, is there a need for us to be vaccinated?
The recommended vaccinations for Egypt are Hep A and Typhoid plus the triple ie DTP, which we have for this country anyway. There is definatley Tetnus out there as I remember Swiss who lives there mentioning it and tetnus is a killer, but you may have had this one already. You can get them for free or possibly the cost of a prescription from the nurse at your GP's surgery. Most people seem to have them as the general concensus is it may invalidate your travel insurance if you catch something and you haven't immunised. Insurers use anything to get out of meeting claims. Although I suppose tht is a secondary consideration against protecting you health.
There is an innoculations thread somewhere I am sure when Briar is around later she will link this to it.
