Posted on Northern Cyprus thead but we have decided to act quickly as the company that let us down with car hire have only one car left. We have the option of having a Vitara soft top and we are wondering what they are like to drive? We had a Peugeot 206 last year in Northern Cyprus which was a disaster as the gear stick was like stirring soup as my partner put it and going up hills it sounded like to it was going to conk out, and at one or two junctions it did actually conk out. So we'd like to know what a vitara is like as we have recommendations for a company that has some left,
Thanks in advance
We hired one last year.
Fun to drive, a little cramped even for 2 adults with 2 small children.
If collecting from the Airport you may struggle to fit 2 large cases in the back.
If you remove the canopy during July / August remeber to take a large brimmed hat, sunglasses and plenty of cream.
If you are hiring the car in April (Easter) like we did, practice putting the canopy back on in record time, if it decides to rain.
Lots of fun and great to in the open air.
Just a little small and be careful in the midday sun.
Good Luck

Thanks, there's two of us so should be fine and we aren't hiring it for the whole of the holiday so should be good. Now off to find the best deal....:)
As Liakada mentioned we also got caught in the rain but we were on the busy main road from through Limasol so just laughed it off and imagined the other drivers having a good laugh.
Word of caution don't leave your 'roof' off loose if you leave the car (we left ours in the apartment on sunny days) as they have been known to be knicked by people who've damaged theirs.
