Hi, I am usually bitten everywhere I go but was only bitten once in July when sat at the pool bar at night. Not bitten at all October. It wouldn't hurt to take a repellant though.

We were bitten by mosquitoes a lot in OD this May/June. Despite using repellent and plug-ins! Definitely take them! Presumably it would have been worse without using them!

Thanks for the replies. I think I will definitely take the repellent just in case!

We are going to the Belchiz on the 8th August
We hope the mossies aren't is bad as last October in Dalyan, but we will be going fully armed with an array of lotions & potions.

Our family are all fair skinned and if they are about they will always head our way but we were at the BB in July/august last year and wernt bothered by mozzies at all although we hgave been many times end May and been plagued by them in Olu .

Im not an expert but I believe the mozzie population will increase where water lays stagnent or there has been rain ,hence more around in May and could answer why we didnt see any in July . Its too darn HOT
I wouldnt take any chances though and still take the repelant and use the plugins in your room and at the very least use repelant around your ankles.

Never really had a problem, we normally go September to Olu Deniz. I always go armed with jungle spray, antihistamine cream, aloe vera gel etc as I hate getting bites but I must say we never really see any.

I have just returned from Olu deniz in past years hubby & i would get bit alive and would take reactions to them he is scarred quite bad.

Last year and this year i went away armed with my avon dry body oil works a treat and stops your skin drying out really moisturising the skin and has a pleasant smell. I was careless one night and dint cover my feet well with the dry oil :duh and i got bit 3 times on the one foot bloody itchy!
The rep on the bus going to olu told us the squitos were rife.. to be honest i hardly saw any which i put down to my dry oil & squito plug in.
Have a good holiday and remember & you protection.
