Hi Val, yes I read that in yesterdays Times of Malta, but it isn't the whole country that is sponsoring the blades, it is the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) the government funded body responsible for promoting tourism to the Islands, it is a very ambitious and forward thinking move by the MTA and could well prove to be a masterstroke of marketing on their part, hope this clarifies things for you.

Thanks Sliema2

I think I will get a signed shirt sorted. I know how fanatical the Maltese and Gozitans are about their football.
I reckon it wold be a good gift to give someone next time we go over.

Mind you, they lost at the weekend!

I'd have thought that if MTA sponsers a city's football team then the airport that serves that city would at least have an airline that flew to Malta! or is it just me :think

There used to be flights from Doncaster Sheffield Airport to Luqa Airport every tuesday morning but then these stopped and I have never been able to find out why...it is a right pain in the bum!
