This B&B first appealed to me as a last minute change in plans. Through another site, it mentioned reasonable rates, starting at £23.00 for double with shared bathroom. With this working nicely with my budget, I went ahead to book for the weekend. From what I had been told via phone was that it would be £40.00 per person. I thought was pretty reasonable for a last minute booking and went through with it.
Once I arrived, I realised exactly how inconvenient its location was. Although central to Poole and Bournemouth, a taxi to the B&B would cost an easy £10.00+ on a good day. Good luck with traffic/rush hour. It's even more fun when you want to check out the local sites.
If you're a more voluptuous person, you'll probably want to specify that to the owners, as the stairs leading up to the next floor are a bit tight and cramped.
The rooms are small and quaint and have cosy duvets to keep you warm during cold nights. However, the beds are a bit firm and may not be suitable for those that often prefer a much softer mattress.
The breakfast is great and can be made around the time that works best for you. Vegetarians are also provided for.
If you're under 30, this place probably isn't suitable for you and you're better off booking a proper hotel or even a hostel. Although at first it appears to be family-friendly, there's also that awkwardness that makes it feel like the owners are keeping track of where you go and for what length of time. Bed and breakfasts are usually meant for relaxing, but this place makes it feel like you have to follow a specific schedule in order to enjoy yourself.
Finally, upon checkout I was surprised with a price double to what I was expecting to pay. With their inability to charge credit cards, I was put into a position where I basically ended up paying more than I bargained for.
If you do decide to stay here, hire a car. The only convenience this place has is the petrol station across the street.
For the price you pay to stay here, you're better off getting a place in town for £5 more.
You would be better off posting this in the reveiw section
