Surely "doing our bit for tourism" means spreading our cash off the beaten track aswell as the so called tourist restaurant

I think that wherever you spend your money in Turkey whether it be one of the big touristy resorts or somewhere "off the beaten track" your custom would be very much appreciated.

I am enjoying this thread to see different people's opinions on hotel board type's.

Do i spend a fortune on holiday as blondiescot states?

I suppose i cut my cloth accordingly, in the past i did SC as my main holiday and loved every minute.

Now older myself with children grown up and mortgage almost at an end i do spend a lot more on going away. I also have a lot more holidays but the main point is two weeks of it is spent in turkey, it is their country that get my money
