advice on good hotels in goa

Hi all - new to this! Going on honeymoon to India including a week in Goa in December. Looking for tips on best hotels there maybe leela or Taj or any other you can advise us on. Want good quality, quiet, near beach, good food. Thanks from Lesley.

The Leela is consistantly rated amongst the Top 10 hotels in the world (depends on which survey) but the Indian Cricket Team stay there, so if its good enough for them..... :tup

We have stayed at the Leela in Kovalam , Kerala. It was very, very good. If the Goa one comes anywhere near it will be superb too.Perfect for a honeymoon special, however, at the price it is now we prefer to have two holidays instead of one !
