also, was there a little shop anywhere near?
yes - lots of small supermarkets in the area (supermarket sold really nice croissants) & good restautants along the road & down the "strip" (main road in protaras). The bus stop is also very nearby & when we went to the waterpark we purchased tickets locally ( ticket shop nr fountain along strip) & bus was 1.5 euro each way - bus terminates at the waterpark ( take the bus to Ayia Napa) - alot cheaper than the tour operator. we were warned about lots of mosquitos ( didn't see any) & street sellers & sellers who come to your hotel room - didn't see any ( apart from a chap who tried to sell us scuba diving round by the pool).

i cant wait either!!! We smoke too so I would be interested to hear if its cheaper to buy ciggies on the plane or while there?

We have just come back from a week at Sweet Memories Protaras (highly recommended) these are practically next door to Lawsonia apartments. Just wanted to let people now that these are now completely closed and will be undergoing renovation/refurbishment ready for next season. Thought this might be useful for anyone who was considering staying here next year.
