The weather is normally ok, although you could have some rain in october.
Depends on what you want in turkey.
I advise Barut Lara beach resort as the best all inclusive I have ever seen
I advise the Datca area http://www.hiddendatca.com if you like nature and no mass tourism!
Have fun

Click on link for virtual tour.
wow looks fantastic thats is it flying into dalaman is it near marmaris also which tour op sells it
No its far away from Marmaris ,its in Belek, flying into Antalya airport .Thomas Cook does it . And it is just as cheap as places i have been to in Marmaris ,but a whole lot better.
Unfortunately, I think you can only fly to Antalya from Glasgow as far as Scottish airports are concerned. The other airports only do Bodrum and Dalaman, as far as I am aware.
http://www.scottravelholidays.co.uk/, They fly Direct from Aberdeen in the summer.
http://www.flyglobespan.co.uk/ They also fly direct from Aberdeen in the summer.

Flying direct from Aberdeen (Globespan fly to Dalaman) your best bet is to choose a resort near to Dalaman Airport, especially with kids in toe, therefore I would suggest Dalyan (or Sarigerme), big enough for lots of things to do but not as overbearing as Marmaris, which is a fair bit further anyway.
Thomson do the Club Turban in between Marmaris and Icmeler and it has rooms which have a double bedroom and a door leading to a twin room. Both rooms have bathrooms and flat screen TVs.It is featured in Thomsons Beach Club brochure.
