AJ i surpose the prices will go sky high for those of us that are going, not looking forward to haggling over everything i think i might be using the bus for some of my journeys. Gel
It would be aweful if prices go up like mad. But it does not look like the prices have gone up too much since I have booked a few rooms in Vagator (early January 09) at the same price I booked last year. I hope basic things remain the same like hiring taxis, bikes, eating out and drinking in shacks...
AJ i hope so to, going in December.
In the Herald today
Does all this mean that early January would look like late October? Vagator is quiet anyway
My friend is in Calangute now and says its really quiet.
Couple that with Rs74 to the £ sterling & it could make for a comparatively expensive trip!
I've heard, shock horror that with the current poor exchange rate, the more expensive places are now charging the Rupee equivalent of £1 sterling for a 650ml bottle of Kingfisher. . . . . . . .

Is it unusually quiet or is it normal for this time of year?
Whenever we have been to Goa in late November early December we found it to be quiet. We were told that it picks up just before Christmas.
we went in jan this year and to me it was busy, even though they said it was slightly down on the year befor, but it was our first time..
Thats what I thought that it is quite normal for this time of year.
Oh and the usual end of season game the police play...."Lets see how many shacks we can pull down today"
Walks....changed my photo...the old one looked a bit too strange
Wow that's so much better could never really see the color of them
We go from Manchester on the 20th DEC and we are staying at the park ave hotel this time not stayed there before.
So where are you staying and when do you go.
