We also find the rep to let them know we are making our own way to and from the hotel.
One thing that makes us laugh is that our First Choice flight arrives about 5:30 ish in the mornings. Where we find it really hot even at that time of the day, the driver always finds it cold, so he wont put the air conditioning on until about two minutes away from the hotel and that is only because the windows have steamed up. We don't really mind as there was always plenty of cool water waiting for us in the taxi when we get in which to us is more important.
Fully agree with the above two comments. There is nothing worse than waiting for people who aren't there. You can imagine the smug looks on their faces when they get to the hotel before the rest of us who are still sitting at the airport.
We took the transfer back to the airport once, and made about 4 stops and only managed to pick up one couple. It might not be so bad, but you have to keep leaving the main road and making detours. It took a couple of hours to get to the airport instead of the usual 1 hour.
