I assume that the bank transfer process is similar to this country. Account No, Sort Code etc. Have you checked that the details are correct? Has someone entered a number incorrect? For example sort code is 01-02-03 and someone has put 01-02-04.

I would go back to the bank and ask them. They are the people who have done the transfer and are the only people who can investigate it. It is not only us that make mistakes.

When I made a transfer last year I gave the following details:-

Account Name:
Bank Name:
Swift Code:
Iban Number:

You can validate an Iban number Here

I made the transfer on the 31/12/2007 and they received it on the 03/01/2008

I would have a conversation with your bank there seems to have been a mistake made.

you need to ask the bank as your money is in someones account somewhere. if the iban, swift or any account number was wrong the money should come back to your account i think. The transaction should take a week max.

Ive spoken to my bank again. Although they charged me for the original transfer request, they now want to charge me again to put a trace on the money. Has anyone else experienced this?

I would ask them for their T&C's of bank transfers so you can see where it says this.

I haven't used a bank transfer in years, but had to set one up online with the Nationwide last week and the company emailed me 3 days later to confirm receipt. It didn't cost me a penny.

I hope you got it resolved, I have just sent another last Monday to Turkey, they confirmed yesterday (Wednesday) that it has been received 48 hours later.

Hi everyone

Th money still hasnt been found. Both me and the hotel manager are trying to trace it, so hopefully all will be resolved soon
