Hi,
In February we will be returning from a Vietnam / Cambodia trip.
Our return flight times have been tweaked a little, cutting down xfer time in Bangkok
The final leg(s) are:
Bangkok Airways (PG924) from Siem Reap arrive BKK @ 10:45
EVA Air to LHR (BR67) depart BKK @ 13:10
- a 2hr 25 minute transit - which initially seems OK
We have just been informed that Bangkok Airways, unlike on domestic Thai routes, are unable to check baggage through from Siem Reap to LHR.
The implication is that we have to collect baggage at BKK and re-chek in for the LHR flight. Fortunately we are Business Class on the EVA flights, so check-in should be speedy.
My questions are (if anyone can halp)
* Can we manage to collect baggage, without going through Bangkok immigration - from memory of the set up, this will not be possible? (although I recall there is an EVA transfer desk airside)
* Assuming that we must go through immigration and then back through emigration, will there be sufficient time?
If anyone out there has done this PG / BR combination from Siem Reap, I would welcome the benefit of your experience.
Many thanks
Peter
If your baggage can't be through checked, you'll have to proceed through immigration to collect your luggage to check back in again. I doubt you'll be able to use the transfer desk because you'll have to go landside to collect your luggage, the desk is airside. As long as your luggage gets off the flight without delay and it's not too far to get to departures to check-in for your connecting flight, you should be ok for time. You'll have to go straight through to the departure lounge once you've checked in.

Thanks - these are my thoughts precisely.
Should be real fun if there are any delays on the first leg!
If anyone has tried this combination, I would be pleased to hear your experience.
Thanks
Peter
