Just read a really bad review of the Casablanca Beach Hotel on another forum and its sent me into a bit of a panic!! My oh and I have been to Goa quite a few times over the years and have, with the exception of 1 year when we stayed in the Victor Exotica, always stayed at the Osborne in Calangute.
Anybody who has stayed at the Osborne will know that its attraction isn't its luxurious rooms so quite happy to accept basic. What I really struggle with though is uncleanliness and judging by the last two reviews of this hotel on the other site it sounds like thats whats in store for us.
Guess I'm just looking for some reassurance, has anybody got any positive info on this hotel? There aren't any up to date reviews on here so don't have anything recent to go on. I only booked it because we got a really good deal and when i looked on the website for the hotel it said that it was going through a programme of refurbishment and the rooms looked really nice.
Have a made a big mistake in deserting the Osborne?
i havent been to goa before so i cant comment on your choice of hotel....but.....
your holiday is what you make of it
we are staying at the village royal and have been told that its definitely the place to avoid......but we are just gonna go and enjoy the place and ther people and try not to worry bout the nasty hotel room......lol
i mean.....it cant be as bad as everyone has said......can it?..........lol

We stayed at the casablanca a few years ago and it was fine. Unless things have changed drastically, you will have no problems.
I stayed at the Casablanca Hotel March 2008, it was fine, no problems whatsoever, didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food. The room was basic, but adequate for our needs, room boys were very helpful. I believe that they were going to undertake some refurbishment work as well this year.
