I really don't think anything will happen in goa, but as has been said they have to be seen to be making an effort.

When you first arrive it is a huge shock and your right many of the hotels aren't great. I doesn't matter though they're usually clean and are only used as a base camp (in my case anyway). 2 days in something takes over! You relax and begin enjoying a very different holiday experience than any European destinations (that I have been to anyway).

Some of the things i'm looking forward too:
Watching the sun set at 9bar while eating a pizza after an amazing day on Vagator Beach
The Scooter journeys to Mandrem and Arambol
The hustle and bustle of Baga and tito's road on a night out
The peace and quiet of Palolem and even the taxi ride down from the North
The AMAZING food!

This year I also have Hampi, The wildernest, Dwarka Goa, and Ciarans Camp to look forward too.

I'm also planning the rice boat trip and the waterfalls! Feb can't come soon enough!

You've got my vote mardon.

The thing is, everyone is different and we all handle things as we see fit. I've worked damned hard for our recent (and only holiday) in Candolim, and no ammount of negative press by the 'Doom & Gloomers' on these DG's would ever put me off going.

As it happens, we had yet another absolutely brilliant holiday in Goa !!!! To be honest, if we'd paid a tenner to spend 3 weeks in a skip on Blackpool Beach we'd enjoy ourselves. Its all to do with attitude ....... not just with holidays but your entire life. Make the most. :cheers

I am going on the 29th and for me goa has two sides the chilling out of a day cheap drinks and amazing food and of course the charm of the goan people, the shacks etc... :sun2

but in the night i enjoy the nightlife and the party atmosphere on the beach, hilltop new year, tito's, mambo's, baga and so on.

i have been a bit aprehensive reading all the reports about the recent drop in numbers out there and of course the security issue with the ban on beach partys till the 5th. have been feeling like this holiday is not going to live up to the holiday i had a couple of years ago!

but i have only been once and absolutely loved it, reading all about the terrorism and security will obviously have an affect on how you will think about your forthcoming holiday. reading this just cheered me up and has reminded me of where i am going I cant wait now, just hope new year regulations dont restrict the festivities too much!!!

Im sure they wont...

Thanks goangirl I felt I had to do something to add a bit of positivity to the forum. I hope she enjoys it as much as I do.

The good trips reports are getting more frequent now.

Ryan i'm sure you'll have a great time! Glad this has cheered you up! Hope it does the same for others!

Really can't wait! Love this time of year when I get to read all the reports from everyone else's holiday.
