It does get quite cold in December. The average temperature over the whole month is around 10 degrees (C) and with it being right by the sea, it will probably be colder. If you want warmth in December think Far East / Asia / West Coast America...
It will be a bit livelier in Palma Nova, although it certainly won't be heaving. There are several Hotels open through the winter, and so more shops are open, and quite a few bars, so you'll find somewhere to your liking.
As for warm - it depends what you're expecting. It will certainly be a great deal warmer than UK. Today is probably a good example of winter weather over here. It's cloudy, and the temperature is probably only about 12 or 13 degrees C, but when the sun comes out it's really quite pleasant, and having walked around the Car Boot Sale in Magaluf, most people are in shirt sleeves, or with light cardigans.
It does get much cooler at night, and obviously we have wind and rain occasionally, but last Christmas Day we were walking along the beach in warm sunshine.
It's a break we're after rather than hot weather so it sounds like just what the doctor ordered!
We'll let you know how it went when we get back, mind you it can't possibly any worse weather-wise than here can it?
Hi Goodfellow, well we had a smashing time in palmanova though we did go to magaluf in the evenings (prince william's bar). Sorry we didn't find your bar, maybe next time. Thanks for your reply, we are going to santa ponsa in the summer & my son's planning a trip with friends to magaluf in sept.
