Hi Sunworshipper,
My wife and I stayed at the Paradise Beach Club over 10 years ago and had a great time there. I've read somewhere, (on here I think), that it's very recently been refurbished, so I would imagine it is looking great.
It's on an excellent beach, has three restaurants, has it's own casino, own disco, and has nightly entertainment.
The three restaurants, when we were there, were varied. There was the buffet style restaurant, which did not require pre-booking, and which varied the theme of the food each night, (Indian, Chinese, Spanish, Dominican, Thai & etc.). The breakfast was also served in there and had an excellent choice.
The other two restaurants were an Italian, (below the Casino and beside the pool), plus a Grill Bar, adjacent to the beach. Both of these had to be booked in advance, but that was never a problem if you booked them at breakfast time a day in advance.
The staff were excellent and very friendly. They worked hard and I tipped them well because of that, (even though we are not really supposed to in an All-Inclusive deal), as opposed to what I found in Jamaica, where it was difficult to get served at bars unless I tipped.
The whole Playa Dorada complex was very secure, though I found there wasn't much to do in the centre. However, I now believe that Paradise Beach Club have a sharing deal with another complex within the resort, so you have the choice of using their facilities just to make a change.
Entertainment varied from night to night and was generally fine, for a holiday resort.
Hope you find this useful.
