Thinking of Gran Canaria this year. We normally head to Benalmadena on the Costa Del Sol but because of hicked up prices by Travel Agents and Benalmadena loosing its sparkle, shores a new are needed.
Family of three, parents in 40s daughter of 15. We have to go in school hols because of Mrs's job. Near beach preferable but not essential. Family entertainment essential on night times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try looking at this link, will give you an idea on what's on at each hotel/complex.Would recommend you go to Maspalomas/Melonares area. Do you want self catering or hotel?
Anythink you want to know just ask, have been going to GC for the past 10/11 years.

Not really bothered, self catering or hotel. As long as there is something for junior to do on the night times. It can be anything from bingo bars to watching a singer or comedian to quizzes to watching the world go by. That last one was for me and the Mrs.

Hi again, we always stay at the CORDIAL GREEN GOLF or CORDIAL SANDY GOLF, fab complex's opposite the golf course, peaceful area (low key entertainment in their sister complex across the road in the CORDIAL GREEN GOLF) Sandy golf bungalows are one storey with nice size kitchen/living area(with comfortable sofa bed) bedroom with plenty of storage space and bathroom, and a small enclosed area to the back for hanging clothes to dry. to the front there is a large terrace with sun loungers/table and chairs and a small garden area. The Green Golf are duplex bungalows with the bedroom/bathroom upstairs. A short walk 5-8 mins is the Faro 2 cc with bars shops and restuarants. Also there is a (free) courtesy bus from outside the complex which takes you to the Maspalomas beach or Play de Ingles. A steady walk to the Masplaomas beach takes approx 25-30 mins, which takes you past the camel ride and the nature reserve. Taxi to the beach costs less than 5€ ask for El Faro (lighthouse) and there is a boulovard with it's array of bars/cafes/restuarants and shops. A must is a vist to Puerto mogan (little venice) the local bus costs under 3€ and you can catch the ferry back to Puerto Rico, and then the bus back to Maspalomas, friday is market day there and very busy. Palomitos park is a nice day out just recently re-opened after the fire, and the Aquasur water park is another good day. If you decide on this area can give you more info about places to eat etc.
Here are the links to aquasur and palomitas park
